Join us in celebrating Niagara University’s new designation as a National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (NCAE-CD). This designation gives Niagara University an edge in the evolving cybersecurity landscape for 2025 and beyond. The U.S. Government's National Security Agency (NSA) designates academic institutions as Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cybersecurity to recognize their commitment to cybersecurity education and research.

The reception will be headlined by Tim Byrd, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer of M&T Bank. Mr. Byrd is recognized as an industry leader with his past experience at PROG Holdings, TIAA, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. He is passionate about developing the next generation of cybersecurity experts and is a current member of the NYU Cyber Fellows Advisory Council at NYU Tandon.

Dr. Petter Lovaas, CISM, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and the Director of our National Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, will host the event along with other cybersecurity faculty at Niagara University.

Niagara University continues to advance cybersecurity education in the region through research and development of the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Niagara University's Master of Science in Information Security and Digital Forensics (ISDF) graduate program meets the validation criteria for the NCAE-CD designation as the Program of Study (PoS).

This event is open to the public and includes complimentary hors d'oeuvres, appetizers, and drinks. Attendees can also learn more about Niagara University's ISDF program and other related programs.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
